Tube On The Tube
This is the trailer that prospective buyers of Acorn Media’s The Best Of Rude Tube will see when they scan in the QR code on the back of the sleeve of the November 21 release.
As we noted on this week’s Raygun newsletter, the title represents Acorn’s first fully fledged TV advertising campaign, with spots on the likes of Dave and E4 going after the all-important young male adult market for this compilation taken from the TV series presented by Alex Zane.
But as well as the TV and other marketing elements such as underground advertising, viral elements, press spots and PR support from Zane himself, the title will also be fully QR interactive. So scanning the code on the back brings up this trailer, but there’s also the prospect of further QR codes being used within the programme; scanning these in will bring up additional footage and behind the scenes material from the Rude Tube team.
As Acorn’s Helen Squire told The Raygun: ”
“It’s very exciting to be bringing the first ever Rude Tube DVD to the market. The fantastic response from consumers and phenomenal support from our retail partners reflects our total confidence in the brand and the product. It’s been so much fun working with the production company on this title and it’s now fast emerging as the ‘must have’ stocking filler for Christmas 2011.”
